ThinkOnIt...Philippians 3:18-19 NKJV

For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame who set their mind on earthly things. Philippians 3:18-19 NKJV

Do you hear the sorrow in Paul's voice as he says this? Paul says "for many walk" and "are the enemies of the cross of Christ". Paul is deeply grieved for these people, for he knows their end...destruction. Proverbs 14:12 "There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death." Matthew 7:14 "But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it." What are signs of being an enemy of Christ? Someone who makes their desires and pursuit of them the main focus in life could be described as "whose god is their belly". Someone who brags about their own sin could be described as "whose glory is in their shame" Isaiah 5:20 "Destruction is certain for those who say that evil is good and good is evil;". Anyone who thinks only of the earthly things and does not recognize God in anything is another sign. Remember, that we were once like them, before we knew Christ. Colossians 1:21 "And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled". Romans 5:10 "For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." Does this compel you to share the message of love, mercy and forgiveness with others? It does for me!
